Getting to Toledo
Travel & where to stay
Most guests will fly into Madrid and come down to Toledo from there. It is easier than it looks — about an hour door to door if you take the fast train.

Madrid airport into the city
Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas (MAD) is the airport for all long-haul arrivals. To reach the Toledo train you need Madrid Atocha station.

From Terminal 4 direct to Atocha. Cheapest and step-free with luggage.

Taxi
Flat official fare between the airport and anywhere inside the M-30, Atocha included.

Metro line 8 + line 1
Change at Nuevos Ministerios. Cheap, but stairs and crowds with a suitcase.

Madrid to Toledo
The high-speed Avant train from Atocha is the one we recommend. Book ahead on renfe.com — it is a short, popular line and sells out on weekends.

Avant train (Atocha → Toledo)
The easy option. Roughly hourly; buy a seat as soon as you have your flights.

ALSA coach
From Plaza Elíptica bus station. Slower but very frequent and no booking needed.

The A-42 straight down. Simple drive, but read the parking note below before you commit.

Toledo station to the Hacienda
Toledo’s station is a small neo-Mudéjar jewel about 2 km from the venue — do look up before you leave it.

Waiting outside the station. The simplest arrival, especially in wedding shoes.

Towards Puerta de Bisagra, then a short walk down Paseo de Recaredo.

Pretty, uphill, and not advisable with a suitcase or in heels.

Parking Recaredo, next door
The underground Parking Recaredo (Indigo) sits at Paseo de Recaredo 22 — immediately beside the venue at number 24. It is the obvious choice if you bring a car.

Where to stay
The Hacienda itself is a hotel, and the streets around it are full of small places. Book early — May is high season in Toledo.

Several hotels within a five-minute walk, at a range of prices.
The old town
More charm and better views, but cobbles, hills and no parking.
Worth knowing
- Toledo is small and hilly. Bring shoes you can walk in and change at the venue.
- May is warm by day and genuinely cool after dark — something over the shoulders is wise.
- The old town is a maze. Give yourself an extra ten minutes for anything you plan.
- Trains sell out on wedding weekends. Book the Avant before the hotel if you have to choose.
